A Glimpse of Self-Serving Dem Sanity

Our pals on the socialist left today took a little time out from trying to destroy the economy, castrating America on the world stage, and holding a Black Mass on the floor of the House (I might have made that last one up), to castigate one of their own who went after an important part of their base. So, a half point for integrity.

Minnesota Congresswretch, incendiary socialist Islamist traitor, and wide-ranging putz IIhan Omar again spewed anti-Semitic venom at Jews and Israel on Sunday. She employed the old double loyalty canard beloved by Jew-baiters of all stripes. She failed to comment on how by that logic, given she’s from Moslem Somalia, that doesn’t apply to her.

This expression of her feelings on the subject sent other Dems rushing for their keyboards to craft faux sincere condemnations. Not faux in the sense that all of them are anti-Semites. False in the sense that they know exactly who she is, what she stood and stands for, and have generally embraced her anyway. Apparently for them her gender, ethnicity, and socialism trump her frothing bigotry.

And now an important part of their base for a plethora of reasons, Jewish-Americans, may have had enough. But perhaps these voters, a group I grew up in, should have first wondered what they are doing aligned with a party that regularly slams Israel. But that is the subject of another piece.

Yes, the Dem House leadership has condemned her words and is drafting a House resolution to that effect. Good for them. But not supporting the election of extremist Jew haters in the first place, just because they tow the party line on other matters, may be a better way of showing sanity and respect for American Jews, Israel, and supporters of both.

Chances of that happening? About as much as my grandmother having a ham sandwich.
