According to a report by CNN, United States President Donald Trump started his visit to the UK with a bang, delivering a speech on Thursday that undermined British Prime Minister Theresa May’s already fragile position in the country’s ongoing Brexit negotiations. In an interview with the The Sun newspaper, Trump said May had ignored his advice on Brexit, while praising former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, May’s rival, who recently resigned over the prime minister’s proposed Brexit plan. The comments by Trump come at the end of a week that saw May lose three ministers, including Johnson, who claimed her approach to Brexit is a betrayal of a referendum vote to abandon the EU.
