Lone Wolf’s Lawyer Asks For Leniency Ahead Of Jan. 19 Sentencing

OpsLens Video

Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud of Columbus, Ohio, is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 19 for plotting to kill American soldiers in the U.S.

After traveling to Syria in 2014 to train in weapons, combat and tactics for jihad, the “lone wolf” returned to the U.S. with a plan to kill those in uniform and researched potential locations for doing so.

The Associated Press reports that facing a prison sentence of 23 years for supporting terrorism and making false statements, Mohamud’s attorney is asking for leniency since his client did not actually attack.
