The United States Navy commissioned the USS Detroit in its namesake city of Detroit.  The ship was officially placed in commission by Adm. Phil Davidson, Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command. The ship is the sixth navy combat ship to carry the city’s name and will remain in the area for the coming days.
